Ice Climbing Tour on Vatnajökull Glacier

Skaftafell, Iceland

Ice climbing on Vatnajökull glacier is an is an exhilarating opportunity to push your limits, discover hidden strengths, and connect with the raw power of nature on the largest and most impressive glacier in Iceland. With skilled guides providing you with personalised tuition you can safely navigate the challenges that each climb presents. Vatnajökull is a perfect glacier playground for ice climbers of all experience levels from beginner to expert.

Your tour will consist of an introduction to the glacier via a short hike through the valley toward the ice. Upon reaching the ice you will be shown how to correctly strap crampons onto your boots. The ice adventure begins with hiking across the glacier to a suitable area to cover the techniques and instruction on how to ice climb efficiently. You will have the opportunity to practice ice climbing and refine your technique so you can progress throughout the day on different climbing locations. Our ice climbing trips are flexible and we will tailor the trip to suit your individual style. We can make the climbing nice and easy or we can make the climbing steep and challenging - it’s up to you! It's all about having a good time!
